For eight years, Tranquil have designed numerous standard and bespoke systems - in the main centred around fanless CPU cooling systems. All of these products - tens of thousands of them, have been very successful and are used in almost every country, in numerous markets. The original focus of the 'fanless' design was reliability - the provision of new monocoque designs will expand this focus.
Tranquil do not plan to remove many of the original products, but most new designs will now be based on the in house created monocoque platforms.
As most systems we design use part of the external chassis as a CPU cooler, the extension of the cooler to become the whole case was a natural progression. By using precision internal mounting points and surfaces of the single chassis, we are now able to ensure the ultimate thermal cooling of CPUs and other devices as required. Not only that, but the cooling systems are now extremely robust, further enhancing the focus of 'reliability'.
Single billets of material, normally aerospace grade aluminium, are cut and shaped to create the chassis. By carefully controlling wall thickness, heat sink surface area, mounting points, polished CPU contact surfaces etc - the monocoque system is created.
Monocoque - is a construction technique that supports structural load by using an object's exterior, as opposed to using an internal frame or truss that is then covered with a non-load-bearing skin or coachwork. The word monocoque comes from the Greek for single (mono) and French for shell (coque). ( article from Wikipedia)
